Q:
What is the easy way to calculate loading dose of Esmolol? (and drip rate)
Answer:
Divide patient's body weight in kg by 2
(eg, 70 kg/2 = 35 mg)
Multiply loading dose by 0.1 to get the mg/kg/min drip rate
(0.1 X 35 = 3.5 mg)
